Ding Yuxi and Meng Ziyi’s Awkward Live Reaction to That Kiss Scene Is Too Real

So Love in Pavilion might have rolled out the red carpet for Liu Shishi and Zhang Yunlong as the official leads, but let’s be honest—it's the surprise pairing of Ding Yuxi and Meng Ziyi that’s got everyone whispering, “Wait, who are these two and why do they have THIS much chemistry?!

Fresh off their own buzzy dramas—Ding Yuxi after melting hearts with Esther Yu, and Meng Ziyi turning heads alongside Li Yunrui—both actors show up here as guest stars.

And just like that, BAM—we’re all suddenly rooting for them to get their own full-length drama.

In Love in Pavilion, Ding Yuxi plays Zhang Zheng, a brooding swordsman weighed down by tangled family secrets.

Meng Ziyi is Qing Muyuan, a bold, quick-witted informant leader with a knack for surviving the chaos.

Classic setup, yeah?

It gets better: there’s secret love, a mistaken identity arc involving a stand-in called Anaran (also played by Ding Yuxi—yes, double roles, we love to see it), and a “love triangle” that isn’t really a triangle because Qing Muyuan only ever loved one man.

Hint: it’s always been him.

Now, here’s where it gets juicy—that kiss scene.

You know the one.

The internet went into meltdown mode, not just because of the kiss itself, but because Ding Yuxi and Meng Ziyi watched it live with fans.

Yep, full-on real-time reactions, nervous laughter, and all.

Right before the moment hit the screen, Meng Ziyi looked like she wanted to evaporate.

“This is a bit awkward… we're watching our own scene,” she said, clutching her drink like it was a lifeline.

Ding Yuxi, clearly trying to remember if they were about to get spicy, asked, “The one after, is it the one with some touching?”

Meng Ziyi’s face said it all as she replied, “It’s a bit embarrassing... yes, the touching is a bit...”

Cue both of them nearly choking on laughter, with Meng Ziyi literally hiding from the camera when the kiss happened.

Awkward? Extremely. Adorable? Absolutely.

And somehow, despite all the flustered giggling, their on-screen chemistry was chef’s kiss—intense, emotional, and totally believable.

No wonder fans are already campaigning for a full-on romantic drama starring just the two of them.

Look, it might’ve felt like this pairing came out of nowhere, but let’s be real—sometimes all it takes is two brilliant actors and one well-shot kiss scene to make the fandom lose its collective mind.

So… producers, if you're listening: can we get Ding Yuxi x Meng Ziyi in a drama where they’re the actual leads? Preferably soon
