Right, here’s a bit of a treat for C-drama fans – especially those still riding the Meet Yourself wave. Li Xian’s newest series A Love Never Lost just dropped on iQiyi out of the blue on 13 May 2025, and guess who popped up to back her old co-star?
None other than Liu Yifei herself.
Liu Yifei reposted Li Xian’s Weibo post about the new drama that very afternoon, giving a sweet lil’ nod of support that sent fans into a soft spiral.

It wasn’t just a random gesture either – these two worked magic together in Meet Yourself back in 2023, and clearly, there’s still a solid bit of mutual respect going on.
Li Xian didn’t leave her hanging either.
He slid into the comments and cheekily replied, “Thank you, Hongdou! I’ll treat you to grilled chicken when you’re free.”
For those outta the loop, “Hongdou” was Liu Yifei’s character in Meet Yourself. Fans absolutely ate that up.

A few noticed that Li Xian only followed Liu Yifei after she gave his drama a shoutout.

Others brought up how he didn’t seem as hyped when The Tale of Rose – Liu Yifei’s own drama – was airing.

Still, there’s no denying Meet Yourself left a lasting mark. With an 8.7 rating on Douban, it was the third-highest-rated C-drama of 2023, beating out loads of other big-name shows.
People loved how simple yet warm the story was – it wasn’t trying too hard, just honest and heartfelt.

And get this – the drama didn’t just do bits on screen, it boosted real-world tourism too. Dali, in Yunnan Province where the show was filmed, turned into a full-on hotspot.
During Lunar New Year 2023, Yunnan pulled in the highest tourism revenue in all of China, raking in a jaw-dropping 38.4 billion yuan.
Local officials even gave the show credit for showing off the region’s peaceful vibes and gorgeous scenery.
Internationally, Meet Yourself didn’t slouch either. It nabbed the Best Series award at the 18th Seoul International Drama Awards.
Yeah, there were some whispers about it feeling a bit too similar to Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha, but the win still stood – proof that the series struck a chord well beyond China.
And just when fans thought that was sweet enough, Yang Zi jumped in on the action too.

She reposted Li Xian’s drama promo on Weibo the same day, cheekily writing: “Let’s see if Brother Xian’s life is still like when we first met! Let’s watch!”
Li Xian was quick to respond again, commenting: “Thank you! Be careful while filming in the highlands! Hope everything goes smoothly.”
Bless him – Yang Zi’s currently shooting Born to Be Alive (also called The Tree of Life) up in Tibet, with Zhang Zhehua and Hu Ge (yes, Hu Ge!) involved too.

For those who’ve followed Li Xian and Yang Zi since their Go Go Squid! days, this is all just extra sweet.
That show kickstarted both their careers and even though they’ve taken different paths since, they’ve always shown love for each other’s work.

They popped up again in Dt.Appledog’s Time as their OG characters, and both were involved in the film The Red Fox Scholar – Yang Zi only did voice work, but still counts, right?
Earlier this year, they even reunited for the drama Flourished Peony, and guess what – the sequel, In the Name of Blossom, is due this summer on Mango TV and Hunan TV.
Looks like we haven’t seen the last of them together just yet.
