Concert season in Malaysia might be heating up once again—with the latest teaser pointing to a possible return of a beloved K-pop boy group. Earlier today (Tuesday, May 14), GME International, a prominent entertainment and event organiser, sparked online excitement after teasing a new concert announcement via Instagram Story.

The teaser image featured a striking visual: a flower encased within a glowing lightbulb, set against a backdrop of hanging metal chains. The phrase “Who’s Next?” was prominently displayed, accompanied by a “Stay Tuned” sticker inviting fans to guess the artist.

It didn’t take long for K-pop fans to start speculating—and many are convinced the mystery group is none other than HIGHLIGHT (하이라이트), formerly known as BEAST (비스트). The theory isn’t without reason. Observant fans quickly drew connections between the teaser and the group’s signature imagery.

HIGHLIGHT’s official lightstick famously resembles a lightbulb, while the presence of chains in the teaser may allude to their latest release, aptly titled “Chains.” The coincidence was enough to set Twitter abuzz, with fans sharing screenshots and forming theories at lightning speed.

Although no official confirmation has been made by GME International or the group’s management, anticipation is already building.

If the rumours prove true, this would mark HIGHLIGHT’s third visit to Malaysia, and their first performance in the country under their new name. Their previous concerts in Kuala Lumpur were held in 2011 and 2013, back when they performed as BEAST under Cube Entertainment.

The idea of HIGHLIGHT returning after more than a decade has ignited a wave of nostalgia—and urgency. Many fans have already declared their intent to start saving for tickets, calling on organisers to make the official announcement soon.

Whether it’s truly HIGHLIGHT or another act entirely, one thing’s for sure: Malaysian K-pop fans are ready, and the countdown has unofficially begun.
