After four long years of announcements, re-announcements, and hopeful calendar marks, JKT48’s very first Original Theater Performance is finally on the horizon! And this time, it looks like it’s really happening.

Back in 2021, the idea was planted. 2023 was meant to be the year.

Then in 2024, we got another promise — “mid-2025.”

And now?

JKT48 has officially kicked things into gear with a wave of pre-release hype leading into the long-awaited debut of their original setlist.

Better late than never, yeah?

🎶 Warming Up the Stage – One Special Video at a Time

Before the curtain lifts, fans will be treated to two special performance videos:

  • May 2025: A cheerful performance of a track from the original setlist.

  • June 2025: A “surprise-filled” second performance.

Worth noting: the members in the vids won’t necessarily be in the actual setlist show itself. So don’t get too comfy with your faves just yet.

💬 Fan Reactions Are... Exactly What You’d Expect

  • “It’s never too late to do this, even though it’s too late.”

  • “We are seated. Hopefully not disappointing.”

  • “Wish this more than 12 songs.”

  • “A little bit more than original ones… please?”

Let’s be honest — the bar is cautiously mid. But the excitement? Real.

🔍 Still Waiting On…

We still don’t have the confirmed Shonichi (first show) date or ticket sale info for the tour and concert.

JKT48 says announcements will be made “soon,” so keep an eye on their official site and socials.

🌟 Why This Matters

Original setlists are a huge deal — not just as fresh content, but as a sign of creative identity. BNK48 has already paved the way with their own original stage.

Now, it’s finally JKT48’s time to step out of the shadows and show us what they’ve really got.

Whether it’s 12 songs or 20, cheesy lyrics or absolute bops — this stage marks a turning point.
