Her Trajectory C-Drama Review – A Love Triangle That's a Rollercoaster of Emotions

I finally finished Her Trajectory or Her Trajecting (Chinese title: 她的轨迹) just yesterday – and it’s a ride, let me tell you! This drama ended in late April, but if you’re just catching up like me, get ready for a whirlwind of romance, angst, and some seriously dramatic twists.

Plot:

At the heart of Her Trajectory is a woman who, after facing a tragic fate, finds herself teaming up with an idol to rewrite her life’s narrative. Sounds familiar, right? It’s got a mix of fantasy and contemporary romance vibes, where the lead characters battle the forces of fate with their quirky relationship. But, of course, it’s filled with tension, love triangles, and the occasional heartbreak.

Genres:
Contemporary, Romance, Fantasy, Contemporary Romance

Episodes:
31 (Mini series) – Quick enough to binge but packed with twists that will keep you hooked.

Network:
Tencent Video

Main Cast:

  • Shen Wei Zhou/SWZ (Dai Gao Zheng/DGZ) as the cold yet warm-hearted male lead, who’s a CEO heir by day, an idol by night.

  • Li Mo Zhi/LMZ/LM (Shu Yan/SY) as the independent, bold female lead who’s always a step ahead of the game.

  • Other Notable Cast:
Shang Miao Yi (Ye Wei), Luo Chu Fan (Han Tian Yu), Ye Shu Yu (Shen Jiao), Mai Tong (Yang Hui Ting), Wang Ye (Bai Kun), and more.

The Relationship: A Messy, Beautiful, Tsundere-Filled Romance

If you’ve seen Marry My Husband (Kdrama), then you’re probably going to experience a heavy sense of déjà vu watching this. We’ve got all the familiar tropes: bickering rivals, fake marriage, and of course, the angst-filled "enemies to lovers" transformation. But the drama isn’t just about romance—it’s also a journey of self-discovery, fate, and redemption.

Relationship Tropes:

  • Childhood connection? Check.

  • Contract marriage? Oh, absolutely.

  • Harem, hidden identity, and love triangle? Yes, yes, and yes!

  • Star-crossed lovers? You bet.

The relationship between Shen Wei Zhou and Li Mo Zhi starts rocky, full of misunderstandings, jealousy, and, naturally, fake dating that turns into real love. Their interactions range from bickering to swoon-worthy moments, and honestly, the chemistry is chef’s kiss.

The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly

Aesthetics: 3/5
It’s got a solid look, but nothing too mind-blowing. The costumes are decent, but the emphasis on Shen Wei Zhou’s (Dai Gao Zheng) coloured hair was a bit... much at times. Grey, blue, and blonde? I don’t know, but it's a bit extra. His jacket-no-shirt combo also gets old fast, but hey, I guess the fangirls love it.

Acting: 3.5/5
The acting is good, but some moments feel a bit overdone. Dai Gao Zheng pulls off the cold, tsundere vibe, and Shu Yan (Li Mo Zhi) definitely holds her own as the strong female lead. But there were times when certain characters felt like they could’ve used more depth. The ex-lover (Luo Chu Fan as Han Tian Yu) was especially memorable for how much I hated him—props to the actor for nailing that role.

Plot: 2/5
Here’s the catch: the plot is a bit of a mess. At times, it feels like it’s trying to do too much. There are some serious holes in the logic (I mean, SWZ and SY don’t even recognise each other half the time, lol), and some plot twists feel like they were just thrown in there to keep the drama running. Still, it’s entertaining for the most part, so if you’re into drama for drama’s sake, this hits the mark.

The Drama in a Nutshell (with Spoilers, of course)

The storyline has it all, from tragic misunderstandings to full-blown character transformations. At its core, it’s about fate—Her Trajectory shows how love can reshape your destiny, especially when you're as stubborn as the leads. Here’s the quick rundown of the drama’s emotional rollercoaster:

  • Ep1: We start with Shen Wei Zhou at Shu Yan’s funeral (wait, what?), then we flash back to 2020 where he saves her life, not once, but twice. Already, the idol vibes and drama are at full force.

  • Ep2-5: It’s a messy ride as Shu Yan realises her marriage to Han Tian Yu (HTY) was a mistake—abusive MIL, violent hubby, and all. Shen Wei Zhou becomes her knight in shining armour (minus the shiny armour).

Her Trajectory C-Drama Review – A Heartfelt Love Triangle That Keeps You Guessing
  • Ep6-16: More ups and downs as the love triangle develops. Shen Wei Zhou is so into Shu Yan, and HTY? Well, he’s basically a walking red flag. There’s a kiss, some jealousy, and a lot of emotional baggage.

Her Trajectory C-Drama Reviews – A Rollercoaster of Emotions in a Twisted Romance
  • Ep17-23: Shen Wei Zhou and Shu Yan finally get together, but things are far from smooth. HTY’s stocks plummet, and he’s not giving up easily. SWZ gets revenge, and we see some serious drama unfold with betrayal, lies, and eventual breakups.

Her Trajectory Review – A Gripping Love Triangle with Unexpected Turns
  • Ep24-30: We’re hit with some truly wild moments. Shen Wei Zhou nearly dies in a car accident, but don’t worry, he comes back to life! There’s a fake engagement, secret plans, and more backstabbing than I can count. By this point, the tension is at an all-time high.

Her Trajectory C-Drama Review – A Captivating Love Triangle That Pulls at Your Heartstrings
  • Ep31: The finale! Shen Wei Zhou and Shu Yan finally get their happy ending after overcoming all odds. There’s a wedding, a proposal at a grave (seriously), and so much drama with the ex-lovers and meddling in-laws. Shen Wei Zhou ends up on top, and honestly, after all the chaos, it’s nice to see them win.

Final Thoughts: Worth the Watch?

Honestly, Her Trajectory is a bit of a mixed bag. If you like messy, dramatic romances where everyone seems to have a secret agenda, you’ll love this. But if you’re looking for a more logical, well-paced plot, you might get frustrated. It’s not the best drama of the year, but it certainly keeps you entertained.

Oh, and by the way, Dai Gao Zheng had 7 minis last year... and I didn’t watch a single one of them. Turns out, I didn’t miss much based on the reviews, haha.
