Zhang Bichen is showing the world she’s not here to be messed with.

According to Sohu Entertainment, recent business records reveal that in a legal case brought by Zhang Bichen against a netizen surnamed Yang for online defamation, Yang has now been forced by the court to pay 8,000 yuan (about £880).

Court Orders Netizen to Pay Damages to Zhang Bichen Over False Rumours

This all kicked off after Zhang’s legal team released a strongly worded statement, saying that the court had confirmed – and Yang had even admitted – that several nasty rumours being spread about Zhang Bichen were completely false.

These weren't just any rumours either — we’re talking wild accusations like "having a baby to get massive child support", "getting a 200 million yuan breakup fee", "secretly giving birth to trap a man", "hiring paparazzi to snap her child’s face", "selling her child’s ID number", being involved in "s3x tapes", "being kept by a sugar daddy", and even "wrecking marriages" and being a "homewrecker".

Justice for Zhang Bichen: Court Rules Against Online Defamer

To make things worse, some accounts throwing around these fake stories also used heavy insults and abusive language, turning it into a full-on attack on her character.

The court agreed that these actions seriously violated Zhang Bichen’s right to reputation, and ruled in her favour.

The recent enforcement of the 8,000 yuan penalty against Yang is just part of the fallout.

It's a small but solid victory in the ongoing battle celebrities face against malicious gossip online.

Zhang Bichen’s camp has made it clear: they won’t be backing down when it comes to protecting her name.
