After 53 Years of Friendship, Yuriko Hishimi and Toru Okazaki Announce Surprise Wedding

Ultraseven’s Yuriko Hishimi, 77, to Marry Kamen Rider Amazon Star Toru Okazaki

Legendary actress Yuriko Hishimi, 77, revealed on 25 April via X (formerly Twitter) that she’s getting married later this year!

And her partner?

None other than Toru Okazaki, 76, best known for his role as the hero in Kamen Rider Amazon.

Hishimi, beloved for her role as Anne Yuri in the classic Ultraseven series, shared that the two first met an incredible 53 years ago.

Despite all that time, their bond has clearly only grown stronger. And in a lovely twist, this will be Okazaki’s very first marriage.

In her cheerful post, Hishimi wrote, “Suddenly, but… I’m getting married by the end of this year!”

She also revealed she’s swapping her lifelong Tokyo life for a more peaceful countryside lifestyle, moving with Okazaki to Kumamoto Prefecture.

She added with a touch of humour, "We first met 53 years ago. He's a former actor and singer, and it’s his first time tying the knot. Somehow, our personalities just clicked – it feels like one of those moments where a miracle pops out of a gourd!"

Fans had already noticed the pair’s close bond – just a few days earlier, Hishimi had shared a video of the two singing a duet together, showing off their easygoing, joyful connection.

Hishimi has been open about her personal life before, previously sharing in 2020 that she became a grandmother. And now, she's proving that new beginnings can happen at any stage of life.

Congratulations to the happy couple – here’s to many more adventures ahead!
