Ayase Kotori Stays in the Spotlight as "Tsumari" Brings a Pop Love Anthem from Rain Tree - Yahoo |
Fans of Rain Tree, the 17-member idol group produced by the legendary Akimoto Yasushi, have something to look forward to.
On the 20th of April, the group held their 4th fan club event at GARDEN Shinkiba Factory in Tokyo, where they revealed their highly anticipated second digital single, set for release on May 28th.
The title of the main track? "Tsumari" (which roughly translates to "In other words"), and trust us, it sounds like a heartthrob anthem in the making.
What makes it even more exciting?
The group unveiled their members for both the main track and the coupling song, selected through Rain Tree’s new “Selection System” – a system designed to assess the idols based on their singing, dancing, and self-expression abilities.
A panel of experts from the group’s management team helped make the final decisions, meaning these picks are top-tier.

For the main track "Tsumari," the spotlight will be on seven members: Asamiya Hinata, Ayase Kotori, Endo Rino, Sato Rika, Suzuno Mio, Niino Fuuka, and Yoshikawa Umi.
It’s worth noting that Ayase Kotori, fresh from her centre role in their debut song "ILU," has been chosen again to lead the group in this latest release.
Notably, two members – Asamiya Hinata and Yoshikawa Umi – will be stepping into the main track spotlight for the first time.
Kotori Ayase, brimming with gratitude, commented, “I’m truly honoured to be selected again for the title track, just like last time.
I’ll continue to do my best and make sure I show our fans a performance that’s worthy of their support. Please look forward to it!”
Meanwhile, for the coupling track, the centre will be taken by Katase Mako, who’s making waves with her growing presence in the group.
Fans can expect "Tsumari" to be a catchy, pop-infused love song that explores themes of strong feelings and support for those who have been hurt. It’s an emotional rollercoaster with a message of love that promises to tug at the heartstrings.
If you can’t wait to hear it, tune in to the Rain Tree regular radio show, “Rain Tree no Radio Yobiko,” airing late on April 27th on Nippon Radio, where the track will debut live for the first time.
