At Toyosu PIT on 19 April, something beautifully strange and wonderful happened — Morfonica took to the stage for their fifth anniversary solo concert, Morfonica LIVE “Rubato,” and transformed the venue into a dreamy springtime fairytale.

The event, sponsored by Bushiroad Music Co., Ltd., sold out quick (no surprise there). And as fans entered the lobby, they were greeted not just by anticipation but the actual scent of cherry blossoms.

Inside? A gauze screen bathed the venue in a surreal landscape of blue skies, grassy fields, and butterflies lazily floating past — a stage setting that whispered: you’re not in Tokyo anymore.

Then the girls appeared.

Opening with the live debut of “Wreath of Brave” from last autumn’s 7th double A-side single, the show wasted no time getting the audience clapping in sync. Five songs in, and the crowd was properly locked in — emotionally and rhythmically.

Then things got soft. The pace dipped into a gentle poetry section, as the Monicas chatted casually about wanting to have a hanami picnic together. Cue “Bloom Bloom”, a fan favourite and the motif behind the night’s gorgeous sakura-inspired outfits.

Under a rain of pink lighting, cherry blossom projections, and even real petals drifting down, Monica performed like they were standing under a blooming tree in the middle of a dream. It was more than just a visual — it was a vibe.

Later, they brought out “Tirikamonikarila” (try saying that five times fast), a magical track from their newest album Polyphony, which dropped in March.

The visuals deepened — gauze projections danced with colours, and the world of Monica pulled everyone deeper into their ethereal realm.

And just when we thought the spell couldn’t get any stronger, they closed out the main show with the first-ever live of “Polyphonyscape” — an absolute banger, emotional yet expansive.

The venue exploded with energy, and you could feel the gratitude and joy ripple through all fifteen songs. The encore, with “Harmony Day” and “Tempest”, capped it off with a bang.

There was also news: Morfonica’s 8th single will drop this August, and they’re planning a talk event for 7 January 2026 — and yes, there’ll be lottery applications bundled with the first press of Polyphony’s limited edition.

(Which, by the way, is already out and features a full 12-track journey, plus a Blu-ray of their Concept LIVE “ff” at Kawaguchiko Stella Theater.)

Setlist Highlights:

  • Wreath of Brave (live debut!)

  • Bloom Bloom (with cherry blossom rain!)

  • Tirikamonikarila (from Polyphony)

  • Polyphonyscape (pure finale energy)

  • Tempest (as encore closer)

Morfonica aren’t just a band — they’re storytellers. This concert wasn’t just music; it was movement, poetry, season, emotion.

Five years in, the girls have shed their early shadows and stepped into full bloom. Whether you’re a day-one Monica fan or just wandered into their meadow, one thing’s for sure: their story’s far from over.

For all things Monica, keep an eye on their official pages and maybe pick up that new album. You never know when the next blossom’s going to fall.
