Luke Departs 'Mu-Te-Luv', Hands Role to Leng Thanaphon |
Big change just dropped for Mu-Te-Luv: Love in the Number. Luke Ishikawa officially stepped down from the project, and he’s asking fans to send full-on support to Leng Thanaphon, who’s taking over the role.
The announcement came on Saturday, 5 April 2025, when Mu-Te-Luv’s social media shared snaps from the latest cast workshop.
Yep, Leng was right there, suited up and ready.
Luke later took to TikTok Live to clear the air.
He told fans that his decision to leave wasn’t taken lightly, but it had to be done due to scheduling chaos he just couldn’t dodge.
“If you saw the GMMTV update, you’ll know they had to change the cast because of clashing schedules,” Luke explained.
“I just wrapped Hide and Sis, and I’ve got loads going on right now. So yeah, makes sense to swap in someone who can fully commit.”
He didn’t stop there though—Luke gave Leng his full blessing.
“Everyone, please support Leng. He’s going to smash it in this series. It’s gonna be such a cool show to watch. Give him loads of love. This is going to be a great moment.”

Fans appreciated the honesty—and the love between the actors.
In a past tweet, Luke had already said sorry to those who were waiting to see him in this project, while hyping up what Leng’s about to bring to the table.
“I’m really sorry to everyone who’s been waiting. But Leng will do a great job and this series is gonna be awesome! Please look forward to it,” Luke wrote.
Leng replied with a thank-you, and it ended with Luke cheekily inviting him for a tennis match.
Fans were loving the wholesome vibe between the two.
Some lovely messages came flooding in:
“Thanks for your kind words, Luke. Wishing you great new chances ahead!”
“Hope they work together someday.”
“Such a cool show of support from Luke.”
“Thanks for giving Leng the spotlight.”
“Let’s hope Luke gets even bigger roles from here!”
The energy around Mu-Te-Luv is still buzzing, and with Leng stepping up and Luke bowing out so gracefully, fans are feeling hopeful. A shift in casting, sure—but maybe a win-win in the end.
Let’s see how it all unfolds.
