| Esther Yu Shows Why She’s the Queen of Promo with Viral Love in Pavilion Spoof |
It’s official — Love in Pavilion has finally hit screens today, Monday, 28 April 2025, on iQiyi, and fans are absolutely buzzing.
The new xianxia drama, led by Liu Shishi and Leon Zhang Yunlong, is part of the Fox Spirit Matchmaker series and serves as a prequel to the much-loved Red-Moon Pact starring Yang Mi and Gong Jun.
While viewers are loving the beautiful cinematography and star-studded cast — featuring big names like Wu Xuanyi, Shen Yue, Zhang Ruonan, Meng Ziyi, Ding Yuxi, Chen Yuqi, Peng Xiao Ran, and Hou Minghao — it’s Esther Yu Shuxin who somehow managed to steal the spotlight today, without even being in the drama!
Fans might remember that Lin Yi, her co-star in Ski Into Love, once crowned her the “queen of drama promotion” — and honestly, Yu Shuxin’s latest stunt proves that title is spot on.
Although Esther Yu isn’t part of Love in Pavilion’s cast, her friend and Love Game in Eastern Fantasy co-star Ding Yuxi is — and she wasn’t about to miss out on the fun.
So, in true Esther Yu fashion, she gathered a few mates and whipped up a hilarious, low-budget parody of one of the drama’s teaser trailers.
Instead of sweeping fantasy robes and fancy effects, Esther and her friends rocked their everyday clothes and filmed the scenes with pure chaotic brilliance.
To recreate the "magical" spinning scenes, Esther Yu simply tied a rope around herself and twirled like mad — all while narrating the clip herself in a deliberately over-the-top, deadpan voice.
In the original teaser, Liu Shishi’s character Dongfang Huaizhu was all serious and poised, despite some pretty funny scenes.

Posting the parody on Weibo, Esther cheekily captioned it:
"Contestant number one in the Oriental Huaizhu Family History Cosplay,"
and even tagged Liu Shishi, writing:
"Sister Huaizhu, look at me!"
Liu Shishi clearly loved it too — she reposted Esther’s video and praised her, saying:
"Xinxin is truly talented, and Xiaolin and her classmates are also gifted actors! You all are truly experts at promoting dramas."
Of course, Esther, being the ball of sunshine that she is, replied excitedly:
"Thank you, Sister Huaizhu!"
The exchange quickly melted fans' hearts and shot both actresses up the Weibo trending list.
Netizens couldn’t stop praising Esther for her creativity and fearless sense of humour, while also loving Liu Shishi’s sweet and supportive attitude toward her juniors.
Some fans even joked that Esther should be officially hired as Love in Pavilion’s PR manager, given how much buzz she created with just one parody video!
At the end of the day, Love in Pavilion was always going to be a hit thanks to its stunning cast and strong storyline, but thanks to Yu Shuxin’s cheeky little side mission, it’s gotten an extra dose of love, laughter, and viral fun on day one.
And honestly? We wouldn’t have it any other way.
