Lai Hui-Ru’s Second Wedding Shockingly Stuns with Star-Studded Guests

Taiwanese entertainer Lai Hui-Ru tied the knot again in a heartwarming wedding celebration held in Xinzhuang on the evening of 13 April.

The 28-year-old star married professional ballroom dance instructor Liu Chia-Ming, whom she legally wed in 2023. Both are in their second marriages and each have children from previous relationships.

Saturday’s event marked their grand wedding celebration after registering their marriage last year. It was a romantic purple-themed affair full of style and meaning.

The couple hosted 50 banquet tables, spending nearly NT$2 million on the elegant event, drawing cheers and heartfelt support from the entertainment industry.

One of the evening's surprises was veteran TV host Hu Gua, whom Lai invited last minute to be their wedding witness.

Hu Gua accepted with a chuckle, saying, “I hope I can fulfil the role properly.” He also gifted the couple a generous six-figure red envelope.

Lai stunned in a striking white wedding gown with a plunging neckline, confidently embracing her beauty. She admitted feeling nervous about remarrying but said she managed to stay calm.

Despite catching a cold and having a sore throat two days earlier, she smiled through it all and enjoyed the big day.

Asked about their plans to have a baby, Lai shared, “We’ve discussed it, but no plans for now—I’m focused on filming 8pm dramas.”

She also said that there were no major arguments during wedding prep. “I handled most of it, and he supported me the whole way.”

A touching highlight came as her beloved grandmother walked her down the aisle.

“She’s been through chemotherapy and several surgeries,” Lai shared.

“She’s changed so much since last year. She couldn’t wear a new dress due to her brace, so she wore one of her old dresses.”

Lai also opened up about how her grandmother initially questioned the need for a second wedding.

“At first, she wasn’t too happy about it. But after spending time with him, she ended up liking him more than I do!”

The guest list read like a who’s who of Taiwanese showbiz, including Pai Bing-Bing, Chen Mei-Feng, Lotus Wang Cai-Hua, Chang Chih-Feng, Bai Yun, Annie, Dong Zhi-Cheng, Kang Kang, Ou Han-Sheng, and Lung Chien-Yu.

The evening was not just about glitz and glamour—it was a celebration of resilience, second chances, and the power of genuine love.
