Indira Seruni’s Big Decision: Graduating JKT48 to Focus on Studies |
It was supposed to be a night of pure celebration at the Aturan Anti Cinta theatre show, but for JKT48 fans, it turned out to be bittersweet. Indira Seruni Putri, one of the group's bright young stars, announced her graduation during the show – which also happened to be her birthday performance.
In a heartfelt speech, Indira explained that she made the difficult decision after not passing her first university entrance exam.
She shared with fans that she plans to focus all her energy on an upcoming independent entrance test – what she called her "last chance" to secure a spot at university, as she’s now reaching the age limit for applications.
Indira admitted that her busy schedule with JKT48 left her with little time to study properly.

Wanting to give her all to this final shot at her academic dream, she felt it was time to move on from the group.
Indira's journey with JKT48 has been quite the story.
She first joined the Academy Class B back on 27 August 2020.
After graduating from the Academy in December that year, she re-joined the group as a Trainee at the end of 2021. Her hard work paid off when she was officially promoted to JKT48’s main lineup on 8 May 2023.
While the announcement was full of tears, it was also filled with cheers and support from fans who have watched her grow. Indira promised to give her best for the rest of her time in JKT48 and asked everyone to keep supporting her as she takes on this new challenge.
No graduation date has been set just yet, but one thing’s clear – Indira’s leaving with lots of love, memories, and big dreams ahead.
