Idol Group Monoclone Announces Disbandment for the Second Time

Monoclone Disbanding in June 2025
After 5 Years and Countless Line-Ups, Monoclone Says Goodbye

Japanese idol group Monoclone (モノクローン) has announced they will disband—again—after their upcoming “1st Asia Tour” wraps up with a final show in Tokyo on 23 June.

The group, originally formed back in March 2020, has had a bit of a rocky ride.

After an 11-month hiatus that began in May 2023, Monoclone made a surprise comeback in April 2024 with a brand-new line-up.

But now, just over a year into their reformation, it seems the curtain is closing for good—at least on the current six-member system.

The official statement, shared on X says the group will “end activities under the current system” following the final show of their Asia tour, titled 白黒RTA in Asia

Monoclone Announces Disbandment for the Second Time

The last stop will take place at Tokyo’s WWW X venue, which has hosted plenty of idol send-offs before.

The reason?

The group says the members have been reflecting on their future visions, and continuing long-term as-is just isn’t in the cards.

The six current members—Kutsushita-chan, Usa Momo, Tsukumo Miko, Amane Kanon, uyu, and Lolimunya—have each joined at different points in Monoclone’s on-again, off-again saga.

Notably, Kutsushita-chan is the only returnee from a past line-up, having originally joined in 2022 and rejoined when the group rebooted last year.

She’s also active in Cinderella Sengen!, giving her one foot in another idol world.

For newer fans, this line-up may feel like it was only just getting started. uyu and Lolimunya only joined in late 2024, so this upcoming disbandment cuts short what many hoped would be a longer run.

For long-time followers, it’s yet another chapter in Monoclone’s revolving-door history—an idol unit that’s known more for its member turnover than stable eras.

The full history reads like a spreadsheet of exits and entrances: founding members like Mell, Natsume, and Hauki bowed out early, while later members like Kaya and Nanomew had short-lived stints in 2024 before moving on.

All told, Monoclone has cycled through more than a dozen members over five years.

Still, fans are being asked to stick with the group for the last two months.

According to management, the six members will be giving it their all up to the final performance, and individual member statements are being shared via their personal X accounts.

Monoclone’s farewell might not make front-page headlines, but for fans invested in their slightly chaotic but endearing journey, this is a moment to mark.

Whether any of the girls go on to solo activities, join other groups, or fade into idol retirement, remains to be seen—but there’s one last chance to see them as Monoclone before the final mic drop.
