A new South Korean talent competition, Under 15, is already sparking outrage before its premiere on 31 March 2025.
Marketed as a survival show for young prodigies, it aims to form a new idol group with an average debut age of 15 or younger.
But Kpop fans and netizens are saying, "Enough is enough!"
Many argue that dressing up kids like full-grown idols, complete with heavy makeup and mature outfits, is inappropriate.
The biggest concern?
It exposes young children to immense pressure and even potential predators.

Under 15 Teaser Vanishes
MBN dropped a teaser showcasing contestants, including a nine-year-old, dancing on stage.
The response was swift and harsh, with many calling the show exploitative.
Soon after, the teaser was made private on YouTube—suggesting even the network sensed the backlash.
Bad Timing for MBN
The timing couldn’t be worse.
The Under 15 controversy follows explosive allegations that actor Kim Soo-hyun had a romantic relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron when she was underage.
With the public already sensitive to child exploitation issues, this new show is adding fuel to the fire.
Will Under 15 push forward despite the criticism, or will the backlash force a rethink? Time will tell.
