The First Frost Finale: A Sweet Yet Emotional Ending

The First Frost Finale: A Sweet Yet Emotional Ending!

The hit drama The First Frost has wrapped up, and fans are still buzzing about its emotional yet satisfying conclusion.

Starring Bai Jingting and Zhang Ruonan, the show dominated rankings in China and held Netflix Taiwan’s No.1 spot.

For VIP users on Youku, the final episodes were a rollercoaster of emotions.

Iconic kisses? Check.

A dramatic showdown? Check.

A heartfelt proposal? Absolutely.

But was the ending truly happy? That depends on who you ask.

The last few episodes delivered major romantic moments—starting with the famous bathroom kiss, followed by the nougat kiss, ballet kiss, and the long-awaited proposal kiss.

But it wasn’t all sugar and roses.

Wen Yifan (Zhang Ruonan) finally cut ties with her mother, choosing to walk away from a toxic past.

Meanwhile, the villain Che Xingde (Li Hongchen), who tormented her for years, was finally brought to justice.

Sang Yan (Bai Jingting) even confronted Che Xingde himself, ending up stabbed in the process.

Though he survived, it led to his first major argument with Wen Yifan.

The tension didn’t last long, though.

Their hospital fight quickly turned into another intimate moment, with Wen Yifan later helping Sang Yan take a bath—cue the steamy bathroom scene.

A major emotional highlight?

Wen Yifan discovering Sang Yan’s secret box filled with old travel tickets and clippings from her journalist days.

It proved that despite everything, Sang Yan had always been by her side.

Their love, years in the making, came full circle.

The grand finale?

Sang Yan, in his old high school uniform, pulled out a ring and proposed at a reunion.

Tears were shed, and the couple finally got their happy ending.

But let’s not forget the behind-the-scenes fun!

A blooper featuring Bai Jingting teasing Zhang Ruonan over sun cakes (aka “wife cakes”) had fans melting.

His flirty remark—“wife cakes should be eaten by wives”—made Zhang Ruonan blush, adding even more chemistry off-screen.

So, was The First Frost's ending happy?

Fans seem to think so. While there were painful moments, the final episodes tied up loose ends beautifully, leaving audiences with a warm, lingering sweetness.
