Seiko Oomori is parting ways with Avex at the end of March, marking the end of her decade-long journey with the company.
But don’t worry, she’s not quitting music—she’s just going full DIY mode.
Avex confirmed the contract termination in an official statement, saying Oomori's exclusive management and performance contracts will wrap up on 31st March 2025.
They thanked fans for their support and assured them that Oomori will continue her music career independently.
Oomori Seiko also took to X (formerly Twitter) to share her thoughts, expressing deep gratitude for the opportunities Avex gave her.
She reminisced about joining the label with a dream of reaching girls who felt stuck in their rooms, saying, “I chose to embark on this music journey with Avex.”
While she’s stepping away from the company, her passion remains unchanged.
"From April onwards, I’ll keep living this life with a DIY spirit," she wrote, encouraging fans to keep following her.
As for her fan club site, Avex mentioned it will be shutting down at some point, but they haven’t given an exact date yet.
They reassured fans that for now, it’s still running as usual.
Oomori first made waves in music while studying at art school and officially debuted in 2014.
Over the years, she’s done it all—writing, producing, and delivering some unforgettable tunes.
Now, she’s stepping into a new chapter, but one thing’s for sure: she’s not going anywhere.
