Japan Tourists Arrested for Flashing at Great Wall in China

Japan Tourists Jailed for Flashing at Great Wall

Two Japanese tourists got themselves into hot water after pulling a prank at China’s iconic Great Wall.

The 20-something pair were arrested and later deported for taking a cheeky photo—literally.

It all happened in early January at the Beijing section of the Great Wall.

The young Japanese man decided to drop his trousers, and his female companion snapped a picture.

Unfortunately for them, security caught them in the act, and Chinese authorities didn’t find it funny.

They were detained for around two weeks under China’s public security laws.

The Japanese embassy stepped in, but the duo admitted it was just a "st*pid joke."

Authorities were not amused and handed them a forced deportation order.

Back in Japan, the pair now have a bizarre travel story to tell—but probably not one they’d want to brag about.

Meanwhile, Chinese tourists called the punishment justified, saying such behaviour disrespects the country's heritage.

China has strict laws on public decency, and exposing body parts in public can be seen as disturbing public order.

Safe to say, if you’re visiting famous landmarks, it’s best to keep your trousers on!
