Olivia Marsh's Agency Admits Plagiarism, Apologises to Isaac Dunbar

Olivia Marsh’s agency, MPLIFY, has come forward with a public apology following plagiarism claims over her song "Backseat."

The track, a part of her debut album Meanwhile, has been found to bear striking similarities to Isaac Dunbar’s "Onion Boy."

MPLIFY admitted they compared both songs and acknowledged Dunbar’s claims were valid.

The agency confirmed an amicable settlement with the singer and is now negotiating songwriting credits to ensure proper recognition for the original artist.

"We deeply apologise to Isaac Dunbar and to any fans who were disappointed by this situation," MPLIFY stated.

They assured that they would review their internal processes to prevent similar issues in the future.

Marsh, who released her album on the 13th, had personally written all five tracks, including "Backseat."

However, this controversy has now overshadowed her debut. Fans are divided—some expressing disappointment, while others commend the agency for taking responsibility.

MPLIFY closed their statement by reaffirming their commitment to fairness in music and promising to be more transparent moving forward.
