Mitsuki Kimura aka Koki’s done it! She’s bagged the AFA Rising Star Award at the 18th Asian Film Awards, set to be held in Hong Kong this March.
This makes her only the second Japanese actor to claim this honour, after Kuriyama Chiaki in 2014.
The AFA Rising Star Award isn’t just any trophy.
It’s given to fresh talents showing huge potential and ready to take on the international stage.

Past winners include Park Seo-joon and Metawin Opas-iamkajorn, so Koki’s in top-tier company.
Starting off by writing songs for famous artists and debuting as a model at just 15, Koki quickly became a global fashion icon.
She didn’t stop there—her acting debut in “Ox-Head Village” got her the Blue Ribbon Award for Best Newcomer.
And she’s not slowing down.
Her international debut in “TOUCH” made the Oscars’ shortlist, and her second film “Tornado” is premiering at the Glasgow Film Festival.
She’s also starring in “True Beauty,” adapted from a popular Korean webtoon, keeping fans buzzing with excitement.
Koki shared her excitement, saying, “Receiving this award is a huge honour and holds great meaning for me. I’m truly grateful to the Asian Film Awards.”
Mark your calendars! The AFA ceremony will be held on 16th March at Hong Kong’s Xiqu Centre. Looks like Koki’s just getting started!
