Julia Xiang Hanzhi Spills on Deng Wei's 'Two-Dimensional' Charm

Alright, drama fans, here’s the tea! iQiyi’s latest costume drama, Love of the Divine Tree, is all anyone can talk about right now.

It dropped on February 7, 2025, and has already set the internet on fire. The star duo—Deng Wei and Julia Xiang Hanzhi—are the centre of attention.

And, thanks to a spicy interview with Sohu, Xiang Hanzhi is giving us the juicy details on working with Deng Wei.

So, what's the verdict?

Xiang Hanzhi thinks Deng Wei’s looks are straight out of a fantasy.

“He’s got this two-dimensional vibe, like, way too perfect for the real world,” she confessed.

Xiang Hanzhi: Deng Wei Too Perfect for the Real World?

But here’s the twist: while he seems cool and detached online, in real life, he’s apparently sweet and super considerate.

A true walking contradiction, huh?

The drama itself?

A mix of romance, destiny, and a sprinkle of immortal chaos. Xiang Hanzhi pulls double duty as two characters—Mu Qingge and Xue Ranran—while Deng Wei takes on Su Yishui, her student in the show.

Yup, there’s a touch of teacher-student chemistry brewing here. Controversial much?

When asked about her favourite moments, Xiang Hanzhi didn’t hold back.

There’s this one scene where her character makes food for Deng Wei’s, and things take a funny turn when the other students crash the moment.

“It was so sweet and beautiful,” she said, clearly still fangirling over the scene. Oh, and the drunk Su Yishui bit? She was seriously impressed with Deng Wei’s acting chops there.

But the drama isn’t just fluff.

Xiang Hanzhi hopes viewers dive deep into the emotions, exploring the blurred lines between student-teacher dynamics and budding romance.

“There’s so much depth to it—love, destiny, relationships. I really want the audience to feel that,” she shared.

And if you’re wondering about her future dreams, she’s got her sights set on Gong Li. “I want to work with actors who have that strong aura and play characters that challenge me.” Looks like Xiang Hanzhi is all about levelling up her game.

For now, though, she’s soaking in the Love of the Divine Tree hype. Fans, buckle up—this one’s going to be a ride.
