Ami Announced Graduation from RAY Amid Health Struggles

Ami Bids Farewell to RAY Amid Health Struggles

Ami, a member of Japanese idol group RAY, has announced her graduation, set for 4 May 2025.

The 23-year-old idol has been battling depression since late 2023, alongside chronic fatigue and dizziness.

Despite her determination to continue, her health has worsened, leading to this difficult decision.

Ami joined RAY on 19 September 2022 and became a beloved member of the group.

However, her struggles began in December 2023, when she was diagnosed with depression.

She took two hiatuses in 2024 but remained committed to RAY, returning in October.

Unfortunately, her condition deteriorated further in 2025, making it impossible for her to continue.

RAY’s official statement expressed immense gratitude for Ami’s dedication and resilience.

“She fought bravely, but her body couldn’t keep up anymore,” they shared.

Fans, too, have shown overwhelming support, praising Ami’s strength and wishing her well in her recovery.

In her personal statement, Ami thanked fans for their unwavering support, apologising for leaving but explaining her decision was necessary for her health.

“I’m deeply saddened, but I can no longer push my body,” she wrote.

She also expressed hope for RAY’s future and encouraged fans to continue supporting the group.

Ami’s final performance will be held at SHIBUYA CLUB QUATTRO. It promises to be a heartfelt goodbye, as both Ami and the group prepare to move forward.
