JKT48 Suspends Flora Shafiqa Riyadi Amid Viral Photo Scandal

A controversial photo circulating online showing JKT48’s Flora Shafiqa Riyadi sitting on the lap of a young man named Rafa, who is rumoured to be the brother of former member Zee, JKT48’s management has announced her indefinite suspension from the group.

Flora, a member of the group’s 8th Generation, will be inactive in all JKT48 activities, as confirmed by the management team.

Despite her suspension, management confirmed that votes cast for Flora in the ongoing 26th Single Senbatsu Election will still be counted.

However, Flora is unlikely to make any public appearances on stage or participate in JKT48 events, including theatre performances and media engagements, until further notice.

In an official statement, JKT48’s management addressed the situation, stating, “Thank you for your support of JKT48. Regarding the recently circulated photo on social media, Flora has met with JKT48 management and provided an honest explanation. Consequently, we have decided to suspend her activities as a member of JKT48 indefinitely. During this period, votes for Flora in the 26th Single Senbatsu Sousenkyo will continue to be counted, but she will not appear in public performances or events.”

As a part of JKT48’s commitment to its values and idol image, members are expected to adhere to strict guidelines, including the “Love Ban” rule.

This policy is intended to help members maintain a professional image and preserve a close connection with fans by focusing solely on their roles as idols.

As an idol group, JKT48 places high importance on its members maintaining a clean public image, which includes avoiding actions or appearances that may create public scrutiny.

In recent years, the “Love Ban” rule has been a topic of discussion among fans, as it requires idols to dedicate themselves fully to the group and their fans without distractions.

This incident underscores the importance of this rule and serves as a reminder of the high standards JKT48 members are held to as public figures.

For the time being, Flora’s future with the group remains uncertain. Fans are encouraged to continue supporting JKT48 as the group navigates this period.
