Where’s Tiffany Lau? Fewer Dramas, More Variety Shows in 2025

Tiffany Lau Not Stressed Over Drama Drought: “Variety Shows Are Kinda Fun”

Tiffany Lau (劉穎鏇) might not be popping up in your usual drama lineup lately, but she's hardly sitting still. The 27-year-old actress recently rocked up at TVB City to help promote the awareness-focused show Alarm Sound for 120 Seconds <警聲百二秒>, and shared how the experience has opened her eyes to the real-life responsibilities of Hong Kong’s police force — and even helped her brush up on cybercrime prevention.

“Some of my friends had their phones hacked just by clicking dodgy links. Now, I don’t touch anything suspicious, not even emails,” she said, shaking her head.

But the bigger buzz came when reporters asked Tiffany about the current dip in drama productions at TVB — a trend fans have definitely noticed this year. Rather than sounding stressed, she stayed cool: “From what I know, Airport Diary 2 <飛常日誌2> will start filming at the end of this year. So for now, it’s just a waiting game.”

No dramas? No drama. Tiffany's pivoted to variety instead — and she’s genuinely loving the switch. “I recently filmed A Day With a Pro <一日打工限定>, where I got to try out being an aircraft maintenance technician,” she laughed. “It’s wild how much you learn. TVB’s been doing more variety content lately and honestly, it’s pretty fun.”

Despite the slowdown in traditional acting gigs, Tiffany’s clearly not wasting time. Between crime awareness campaigns and behind-the-scenes jobs in aviation, she’s keeping busy and picking up life skills along the way. Not a bad trade-off, eh?
