The Fix was filmed across Jackson, Mississippi, Budapest, Hungary, and Tbilisi, Georgia, with the production using real institutional, airport and urban environments to recreate the film's fictionalised Kabul and Tehran settings. Principal photography wrapped in September 2024, but anyone hoping for a complete street-by-street map should probably lower the binoculars: productions do not always reveal every precise filming spot while cameras are rolling, particularly when keeping cast and crew disruption to a minimum matters more than satisfying location-hunting fans.

The 2026 film, originally titled Hotel Tehran, is directed by Guy Moshe and follows a group of former operators whose lives take a sharp turn after a disastrous mission in Kabul. Their next plan involves travelling into Tehran to recover a hidden $25 million fortune, only for the supposedly straightforward job to become considerably more complicated. The story moves between memories of Afghanistan, civilian life in America and the increasingly dangerous operation in Iran, giving the filmmakers plenty of reasons to make one city look like another.

Millsaps College in Jackson, Mississippi, was one of the most specifically identified filming locations. The college campus was used for scenes requiring an institutional setting, with its biology and chemistry buildings dressed to serve a very different purpose on screen.

One sequence uses the surroundings as a middle-school drop-off area connected to the characters' lives away from their former military careers. It is the sort of transformation that makes location spotting particularly entertaining because the place can look perfectly ordinary in real life while becoming part of a much more dramatic story once a film crew has finished dressing it.

Jackson, Mississippi, itself provided a much broader production base beyond the Millsaps College campus. Streets, warehouses and local alleyways were used to build the American side of the story and portray the veterans' lives after returning from the conflict.

The city gave the production access to a mixture of established urban architecture and less polished industrial environments, helping create the grounded atmosphere required for a thriller about people attempting to rebuild their lives while plotting something that is very much not on the average career-recovery checklist.

Tbilisi International Airport in Georgia was another particularly identifiable filming location. The terminal and surrounding tarmac areas were used for logistical and travel sequences, giving the story a convincing sense of international movement as the characters head towards increasingly complicated territory.

Using an actual airport also gives those scenes a more immediate physical quality than simply placing actors in a generic studio terminal. For fans interested in tracing the film's journey geographically, this is one of the more distinctive places connected directly with the production.

Tbilisi, Georgia, provided more than its airport. The city and surrounding Georgian production environment supplied infrastructure and rugged surroundings suitable for the film's tactical sequences.

Georgia has frequently doubled for locations that are difficult or impractical for productions to film in directly, and its combination of urban architecture and varied landscapes allowed The Fix to create the sense of a dangerous international operation without having to reproduce every element of its fictional Tehran setting literally.

Budapest, Hungary, played a major role in establishing the film's heavily monitored urban environment. The production used Budapest's historic architecture, narrow passages and stone-lined streets to stand in for parts of Tehran, particularly during the film's more intense infiltration and escape sequences.

It is a familiar filmmaking trick, but one that works remarkably well when the architecture, camera angles and production design are doing their jobs. In The Fix, Budapest effectively becomes somewhere else, which is rather useful when the actual somewhere else is considerably harder to access for a Hollywood production.

Budapest's historic Old City areas were particularly useful for the film's visual language. The narrow corridors and older architectural details provided natural spaces for building infiltrations, movement through confined streets and action sequences requiring a sense of urban pressure.

Rather than relying entirely on artificial sets, the production could use existing structures to give the film a more convincing physical texture. For viewers who enjoy spotting real-world architecture behind fictional locations, these sequences may be among the most rewarding parts of the movie.

The production's use of Jackson, Millsaps College, Tbilisi International Airport, Tbilisi and Budapest also explains why the finished film can move between apparently very different parts of the world without necessarily having been filmed in the places named by the story.

The Fix is set against Kabul and Tehran, but the production did not simply travel to every location represented in the screenplay. Instead, filmmakers selected environments that could convincingly reproduce the atmosphere, architecture and practical requirements of those settings while giving the crew greater control over complicated sequences.

There is also an important distinction between a film's story locations and filming locations. Kabul and Tehran are crucial to the narrative, but that does not mean every scene featuring those cities was physically shot there. In this case, Jackson, Budapest and Tbilisi were used to recreate parts of the world inhabited by Tucker and the rest of the team. That difference is worth remembering when location articles throw around city names as though the cast simply packed their bags and filmed everywhere the screenplay mentioned.

For fans, the location hunt is arguably one of the more interesting side quests attached to The Fix. Millsaps College gives viewers a tangible place to connect with the characters' civilian world, Tbilisi International Airport provides a direct link to the film's international movement, while Budapest supplies much of the gritty urban atmosphere associated with the Tehran sequences. Jackson then ties several of the film's American settings together. It is a surprisingly wide geographical footprint for a story that spends so much of its time trying to make one place look like another.

My take is that the location work could become one of the film's quiet strengths. There is something amusing about watching a supposedly high-stakes journey into Tehran while knowing that parts of it were actually created in Hungary and Georgia. That is cinema doing what cinema does best: convincing you that somewhere is somewhere else, then leaving fans to pause frames like amateur detectives.

The choice of Jackson is especially interesting because it gives the American sections a lived-in quality rather than making everything feel like a polished studio production. Budapest seems an obvious winner for atmosphere, while Tbilisi brings the international flavour. None of this guarantees that every viewer will care about filming locations, of course. Some will obsess over architecture; others will simply ask when the explosions start. Both approaches are perfectly respectable.

Fan reactions to the filming locations can understandably vary. Some viewers love discovering that a familiar building or street has been transformed into a completely different part of the world, while others are more interested in the performances and story than the geography behind the camera. For location hunters, however, The Fix offers plenty to investigate without assuming that every unidentified street corner was publicly documented during production.

It is also worth keeping in mind that not every exact filming spot was publicly disclosed during production. Keeping certain locations quiet can help a production operate without unwanted interruptions, particularly when recognisable actors, controlled sets or complicated action work are involved. Consequently, the locations identified here should not be treated as a promise that every single camera position, building entrance or alley used in The Fix has been officially revealed. Sometimes the mystery is simply part of the filmmaking process.

As The Fix reaches its September 11, 2026 theatrical release, its filming locations give fans another reason to revisit the movie after the credits roll. If you are the sort of viewer who immediately searches for a building after recognising it on screen, these places could make an interesting travel wishlist — although perhaps save the dramatic infiltration techniques for the cinema.
