By the early 2020s, however, the entertainment world began calling louder. Alongside her healthcare work, Journi steadily expanded her presence in dance and modelling. Her breakthrough came in 2023 when she secured a coveted spot as a Dallas Mavericks Cheerleader, marking a significant milestone in her professional dance career.
At the same time, she was gaining momentum in fashion. Runway appearances at Dallas Fashion Week and various modelling projects helped establish her as a rising face in the regional fashion scene. By the time she auditioned for the Cowboys in 2025, she was already balancing multiple creative pursuits.
Ironically, missing out on the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders may have accelerated her modelling ambitions. Rather than dwelling on what could have been, Journi appears to have embraced a new direction entirely. Today, she is focusing on modelling full-time, building a career that places her in front of cameras rather than on football sidelines.
Away from the spotlight, Journi's life seems considerably less dramatic than reality television might suggest. She maintains a relatively private profile, sharing only glimpses of her personal world.
What is clear is the importance of family in her life, particularly her brothers, Caleb and Jermaine, who have remained constant supporters throughout every career transition. Another major source of support is her partner, Dawson Nobriga, a professional chiropractor based in Texas.
The couple, who currently live in Denton, appear to be building a stable life together away from the cameras. While wedding bells have not officially rung, they seem perfectly content sharing their home with perhaps the true star of the household — their beloved Goldendoodle.
