Cai Xukun ended up trending across Chinese social media this week after an unexpected moment during a brand event in Hangzhou turned briefly chaotic. While standing on stage during a live-stream segment, the Chinese singer and actor was suddenly approached by a woman who broke through security barriers, rushed onto the stage, and wrapped him in a forceful hug while shouting that she missed him. The scene lasted only seconds, but online discussion? That part is still running overtime.
Videos filmed by fans at the venue quickly spread online, showing the woman in a pink dress sprinting towards Cai Xukun with both arms open before security reacted. The situation became messy almost immediately as the woman reportedly held tightly onto his clothes while guards attempted to pull her away, causing the artist himself to stumble backwards several steps on stage.

Fans in the crowd could be heard screaming in shock, while the livestream momentarily lost its smooth “luxury brand event” atmosphere and entered full “nobody in the production team is getting sleep tonight” territory.
What caught even more attention, though, was not the security failure itself but Cai Xukun’s reaction in the middle of it all.
Instead of losing his temper or looking visibly irritated, he remained calm throughout the incident and repeatedly told security personnel to slow down and be careful while escorting the woman away.

According to videos circulating online, he could be heard saying phrases equivalent to “slowly, slowly” and “it’s okay”, even while organisers around him were clearly panicking.
The artist also reassured the event host, who appeared visibly shaken after the interruption. At one point, Cai Xukun gently tapped the host on the shoulder to signal that he was fine and ready to continue.
The event resumed shortly afterwards as if everyone collectively agreed to pretend the previous thirty seconds had not just turned into a real-life survival mode livestream clip.
Soon after the incident, organisers released a public apology statement acknowledging failures in security and crowd management.
They admitted that an unrelated individual had managed to enter the restricted stage area due to operational negligence and expressed regret towards Cai Xukun, his team, and supporters.
The organisers also stated that investigations would continue and that responsibility would be pursued with the security and event execution teams involved to avoid similar incidents happening again.
