Japanese boy group BE:FIRST is once again stealing the spotlight, but this time it’s not just for music. Member Kamimura Reo aka LEO, often seen as the group’s dependable big brother figure, is going viral after Japanese magazine FRIDAY reported that he’s in a serious relationship with model-actress Mayuu Yokota.
According to the outlet, LEO and Mayuu Yokota have been quietly seeing each other for over a year, and despite their hectic schedules, they’ve managed to maintain what sources describe as a “half-co-living” arrangement — separate rooms in the same luxury apartment complex in central Tokyo.
A Paparazzi Morning Tail: Fifteen Minutes Apart, Same Destination
Earlier this month, FRIDAY photographers allegedly spotted Mayuu Yokota leaving her upscale apartment around 6AM, dressed down in a red cap and grey hoodie as she headed for her regular appearance on TBS’s Love It!.

Fifteen minutes later, LEO reportedly emerged from another entrance of the same complex, hopping into a waiting car bound for the exact same TV studio.
The magazine claims the same pattern repeated the following week — Yokota Mayu leaving first, LEO appearing shortly after, both travelling to their shared programme.

Mayuu Yokota, known from the variety show ItteQ! as one of the “Degawa Girls” and currently starring in the drama Oshi no Satsujin, has nearly one million Instagram followers and a strong youth fanbase.
LEO, on the other hand, is in the middle of BE:FIRST’s packed year-end schedule, having just delivered a standout performance at FNS Kayousai before heading into Record Taisho and Kohaku season.

Not a “Love It!” On-Set Romance, After All
Fans might assume the pair got close through their frequent appearances on Love It!, especially since the show once aired footage of the cast attending BE:FIRST’s Tokyo Dome concert together. Social media also noticed the friendly tone between LEO and Mayu Yokota, including him casually calling her “Mayu-chan”.
But insiders told FRIDAY that their connection didn’t start on the show.
Sources claim they were introduced through mutual acquaintances and began dating shortly after, with LEO reportedly smitten from the beginning.
One acquaintance quoted by the magazine says LEO had been mentioning he “liked someone” even before things became official — and that marriage isn’t an impossible topic for the future.
Agencies Keep It Neutral
When asked to comment, both LEO’s agency and Mayuu Yokota’s team responded with similar statements:
“We leave private matters to the individual.”
Neither confirmed nor denied the relationship, which only fuelled more online discussion.
FRIDAY’s issue and digital platform promise further coverage, reportedly including LEO’s brief comments during a direct approach as well as additional photos. Meanwhile, rival outlet Shukan Bunshun has also jumped in, claiming to detail the pair’s background, challenges they faced, and conversations LEO allegedly shared with members.
