ASOBISYSTEM’s ever-growing idol project KAWAII LAB. has officially unveiled its fifth group, MORE STAR (モア スター), marking a fresh chapter in the label’s colourful idol universe. The new nine-member unit was announced on 8 December 2025, alongside the release of their first digital single, before stepping onto the stage for their official debut at K-Arena Yokohama on 12 December.

Produced by Kimura Misa, MORE STAR is formed entirely from former trainees of KAWAII LAB. MATES, a move that highlights the project’s long-term development system rather than instant casting.

For fans who have followed the trainees’ journey, this debut feels more like a graduation than a surprise launch.

MORE STAR Debuts Under KAWAII LAB.

The creation of MORE STAR follows an intense three-day training camp that brought together 19 trainees from KAWAII LAB. MATES and KAWAII LAB. SOUTH, all competing for a chance to debut.

The entire process was closely documented and broadcast on TV Asahi’s late-night programme Golden Dream, offering viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the pressure, preparation, and personal motivation behind idol training.

The camp didn’t just test performance skills, but also mental strength, teamwork, and adaptability.

Every rehearsal, evaluation, and emotional moment was captured, making the final group reveal feel earned rather than manufactured.

An extended and uncut version of the camp footage is also available exclusively on TELASA, featuring full performances, unseen training scenes, and longer interview segments that didn’t make it to terrestrial broadcast.

MORE STAR Members and Colours

The nine members of MORE STAR each carry an assigned colour, continuing KAWAII LAB.’s signature visual identity:

Digital Debut and Early Releases

MORE STAR kicked off their discography with two digital singles in December 2025:

  • “Motto, Kiratto” (もっと、キラッと)

  • “Hug!” (ハグ!)

Both tracks lean into bright melodies and accessible hooks, designed to introduce the group’s identity without overwhelming new listeners.

The songs also reflect the project’s aim to balance polished idol pop with warmth and relatability.

MORE STAR now joins a successful KAWAII LAB. lineup that includes FRUITS ZIPPER, CANDY TUNE, SWEET STEADY, and CUTIE STREET. The project continues to dominate attention across live events, streaming platforms, and social media, with previous groups reaching major milestones in touring and viral performance numbers.
