Former Idoling!!! member Ai Okawa (31) surprised fans on 9 May with a heartfelt Instagram update, casually dropping some major life news: she's been through a divorce and a remarriage over the past few years.
Yep, a lot has happened.
“Sorry for the sudden update,” she wrote in her post, “but it’s something quite personal I felt it was time to share. Actually, a lot has happened in the last few years – I got divorced, and then I got remarried.”

Alongside her message, Ai Okawa also posted a sweet illustration of her new family of three, saying she’s now living a peaceful, thankful daily life with her loved ones.
“I’m grateful for the everyday happiness I get to experience with my family,” she added.
The tone was calm, grounded, and full of quiet warmth — no drama, just life moving forward.
Fans who’ve followed Ai Okawa since her Idoling!!! days will remember her as a third-gen member who graduated in 2015 after a strong run in the idol spotlight.
In 2018, she announced her engagement to a non-celebrity man, and in 2019 she stepped away from the entertainment industry altogether.
She also became a mum that year.
But in 2021, she dipped her toes back into showbiz with a role in the MV for Tanshoku Days, produced by fellow Idoling!!! alum Mai Endo for her group Neontetra.
In her latest message, Ai Okawa also thanked everyone who's supported her through the years, promising to keep moving forward with gratitude.
“I’ll continue doing my best while appreciating everyone who’s supported me,” she wrote.
