The countdown is officially on for Love Algorithm (《恋爱演算法》), one of the most talked-about new BL dramas arriving this summer. The Chinese-Malaysian production has quickly built momentum thanks to its refreshing modern romance, attractive cast and a story that mixes old misunderstandings, reality television and second chances. With its first preview already shown during a July press event, fans now have a clearer picture of what awaits when the 10-episode series premieres on 15 July 2026.

Produced by ByCOLIN, Love Algorithm blends romance, comedy and emotional drama into a stylish urban series with a cinematic visual approach. Rather than relying on dramatic twists every five minutes, the show focuses on relationships that have been left unresolved for years before unexpectedly colliding again under television cameras.

It sounds romantic, awkward and just chaotic enough to keep viewers pressing the next episode button. For international viewers wondering where to watch Love Algorithm, the answer is straightforward.

The series will premiere exclusively on WeTV International beginning 15 July 2026, with new episodes arriving every Wednesday at 8pm. International fans can expect English subtitles to be available through the platform, making it accessible for audiences outside Malaysia and Greater China.

Producers have also indicated that availability on additional streaming platforms will be announced at a later date, giving overseas fans more viewing options once distribution expands.

At the centre of the story is Cole, played by Jack Goh (Wu Qingnian), a screenwriter developing a dating reality programme. His carefully organised professional life is thrown into complete disorder when he reunites with famous singer Phil, portrayed by Yang Zhenning, after years apart.

Their friendship ended because of what both believed was a complicated love triangle, but as they spend more time together inside the reality show, they slowly realise the real misunderstanding had nothing to do with competing over the same person. Instead, they had both failed to admit their feelings for each other.

As if that emotional puzzle was not already complicated enough, Phil is paired with guest participant January, played by May Ho, for a pretend relationship segment that creates even more confusion. Apparently reality television has discovered that emotional peace is terrible for ratings.

Beyond its romance, Love Algorithm explores the contrast between logical decisions and unpredictable emotions. The title itself reflects that idea, asking whether love can ever follow a formula or whether feelings simply refuse to obey anyone's carefully designed plans.

Set against the glamorous backdrop of a dating programme, the series promises heartfelt conversations, playful comedy and enough emotional tension to make viewers question why fictional characters continue making decisions that real people would probably avoid after about five minutes.

The cast brings together an exciting mix of familiar and rising names, led by Jack Goh (Wu Qingnian) and Yang Zhenning. They are joined by Jansen Lau, May Ho, Lynn Lim and several supporting performers who help build the lively world surrounding the television production.

Early promotional clips and behind-the-scenes videos have already highlighted the easy chemistry between the ensemble, something many viewers believe could become one of the drama's strongest selling points.

Speaking during promotional activities, Jack Goh shared one of filming's funniest moments while teasing one of the romantic scenes.

"We were kissing intensely, and his lips stuck to mine because they were so dry! As soon as filming stopped, I asked makeup to bring lip balm right away," he laughed, carefully keeping his scene partner a secret. Safe to say lip balm may deserve a supporting actor credit before the season is over.

For Yang Zhenning, playing Phil brought a different challenge. The actor explained, "Getting Phil's emotions right wasn't easy, but I felt completely comfortable acting opposite Jack. We trusted each other and the story, so everything went smoothly."

Looking beyond this project, he also expressed his desire to continue exploring different roles rather than becoming known for only one type of character. When asked about frequent comparisons to actor Wang Hedi, he responded with humour, saying, "I don't see the resemblance myself. The only thing we probably share is… we're both guys.

From the first preview, Love Algorithm appears determined to deliver more than straightforward romance. Expect plenty of playful banter, emotional misunderstandings, workplace rivalry, fake relationships that become increasingly complicated and genuine character growth beneath its polished appearance.

The bright cinematography, fashionable styling and warm atmosphere help balance the more emotional moments, creating a series that feels light-hearted without losing sight of its emotional core.

Online reactions have been enthusiastic since the first footage and promotional images were released. Many fans have praised the visual chemistry between Jack Goh and Yang Zhenning, while others are already predicting the series could become one of the standout BL titles of 2026.

Some viewers are especially curious about how the reality show setting will shape the romance, while others admit they're simply waiting for the inevitable awkward reunion scenes because apparently emotional chaos makes excellent weekly entertainment.

With its combination of romance, comedy, stylish production values and an appealing cast including Jack Goh, Yang Zhenning, Jansen Lau, May Ho and Lynn Lim, Love Algorithm is shaping up as one of this year's most anticipated Chinese-Malaysian BL dramas. Whether you're watching for the second-chance romance, the reality show drama or simply to find out whose lips actually needed that emergency lip balm, this is one series worth adding to your watchlist. Are you planning to tune in on premiere day, and which cast member are you most excited to see?
