Chinese singer Joker Xue (Xue Zhiqian) has publicly pushed back against expensive bundled ticket packages after fans raised concerns over how tickets for his upcoming Beijing concert were being sold. Instead of simply buying a concert ticket, some fans discovered packages combining seats with hotel stays and transport services at significantly higher prices, prompting the artist to make it clear that this was never the experience he wanted for the people coming to hear his music.

The discussion gathered pace after concertgoers shared screenshots of package deals being offered through several ticketing platforms. According to reports, the bundles included concert seats, accommodation and transfer services, with the most expensive package reaching 3,180 yuan per night

That quickly caught attention because the official standalone ticket prices for the concert range from 310+ yuan to 1,719+ yuan. Fans looking for nothing more complicated than a night of live music suddenly found themselves being offered something closer to a short holiday package.

Joker Xue Distances Himself From Expensive Beijing Concert Ticket Bundles

On 7 July, Joker Xue addressed the issue directly through a lengthy post on social media, using unusually firm language. He stressed that whether it was his birthday celebrations, a tour stop or any authorised ticket sale, he had never intended for tickets to become part of costly bundles or inflated pricing practices.

He urged ticketing platforms not to use his concerts as an opportunity to package tickets into premium offers that many fans neither requested nor needed.

The singer explained that his management has consistently opposed inflated ticket prices and compulsory package sales. He said his goal has always been simple: allowing people to attend his concerts comfortably, without unnecessary pressure on their wallets.

He also called on platforms to give consumers the freedom to decide what they actually want to buy rather than wrapping everything together as though everyone arriving for a concert also planned an overnight getaway.

Joker Xue Calls Out High-Priced Bundles Linked to His Beijing Concert Tickets

His message reflected an image that fans have long associated with Joker Xue. Over recent tours, he has built a reputation for keeping ticket prices relatively accessible compared with many major arena productions.

That approach has helped strengthen his popularity, with supporters often praising him for putting music before unnecessary extravagance. Judging by his latest statement, he clearly has no interest in seeing his concerts transformed into luxury travel packages. After all, most people just want to sing along, not accidentally book a mini holiday.

Bundled ticket packages have become increasingly common across the live Chinese entertainment industry, often combining admission with hotels, transport or additional services. Supporters argue these options provide convenience, while critics believe they can make concerts appear far more expensive than they need to be and reduce flexibility for ordinary buyers.

Joker Xue Left Stunned by Expensive Bundle Deals for His Own Concert Tickets

Many fans quickly rallied behind Joker Xue, applauding him for publicly distancing himself from the bundled offers. Comment sections filled with messages thanking the singer for speaking up instead of remaining silent.

This is not the first time Joker Xue has taken a firm stance on ticket sales. During previous tours, he supported stricter identity verification measures in an effort to reduce unfair ticket distribution and make it easier for genuine fans to secure seats. While those efforts generated debate of their own, supporters viewed them as another indication that he wanted concerts to remain focused on audiences rather than opportunistic sales tactics.

There is no room to adjust the official ticket prices. As for whether the official ticket prices could now be adjusted, that appears highly unlikely.

Joker Xue's established pricing structure has already been used across multiple concert tours and is regarded as a well-established system. Making last-minute changes to official prices could create consumer rights concerns for fans who have already purchased tickets.

More importantly, artists generally have limited authority to alter approved ticket prices, which are typically agreed with organisers, venues and regulators well before sales begin.

Joker Xue's statement was not a call to lower or raise ticket prices but rather a clear objection to expensive bundled packages that combine tickets with additional services, arguing that fans should be free to buy only what they actually need and his message was straightforward: music should bring artists and audiences together in the simplest and most comfortable way possible, without unnecessary extras becoming the main attraction.
